Katy Brodsky

Katy Brodsky is currently located in British Columbia, Canada. However, she has lived in or visited: Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Israel, Italy, Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Anaheim, London, Quebec and New York. According to Katy, landings count. Due to those, rather frequent moves, Katy has been to at least 10 different schools. While spending time in jail, err, school...Katy has grown fond of two subjects, English and Drama/Acting. Ever since being bit by the writing/acting bug, Katy has spent her time doing theatre & film work. At her graduating ceremony she was presented with a cute award, "The Audrey Hepburn Award for Outstanding Performance." Obviously they made a mistake... Nah!

For writing Katy has written for dozens of publications, some of which actually paid her (what an ego booster). She has also founded a rather successful online magazine and serves as an editor for a few other publications. Her topics have usually been around entertainment, but there is nothing entertaining about a child suffering from cancer/leukemia.

"When such a dark shadow strikes, it's not only up to the victim to fight for the light. A kindness of a stranger can go a long way, even if it's just the mere fact that someone cares. Lots of great research is being done for a cure, but it takes time and it takes money. Any way to ease suffering is worth an existence. Happiness, even for just one moment, is worth living for - And surviving."

Brad Voitheffer

Brad Robert Voithofer was born February 25, 1983 in Weirton, WV. He is a 2001 graduate of Brooke High School in Wellsburg, WV. When Brad is not studying or working, he enjoys acting, singing, politics, movies, swimming, bowling, and working out.

Brad wanted to make a difference in the world and wanted to something special for children who are battling Leukemia. He thought there had to be a way to make their lives easier as they underwent treatment. He contacted Steve Shor of the NCLF and offered to help in anyway! As a Teen Founder of Teens4Acure- his hard work and efforts will help make this a huge success. Brad hopes to help make this the largest Teen Effort in America!

Brad will be organizing High Schools across the country in the very first "Week 4 A Cure" - whereas schools will all participate in fundraising activities that will benefit Teens4aCure.

Brittany Mullen

Hi my name is Brittany Mullen and I'm from Cooper City FL, just outside of Ft. Lauderdale. I attend the Montessori Middle Honors Academy and I'm in the 7th grade this year. I love school, singing, dancing, and acting. Performing is what I love best. Having done local talent shows and numerous charitable events, I've sang and danced for the March of Dimes and danced at the Footy's Wing-ding which is the charity for "Here's Help" I've done radio work with Radio Disney, commercials, theater, and I've even been fortunate enough to be a principle dancer in two music videos, which included Lil Romeo (Girlies) and Lil Krypton. I love making people happy and if I can do that by performing, then the stage is where my heart is at.

I was so honored when asked to help with Teens4aCure. I want to help any way I can throughout the state of Florida!

Burton Gilliam
Actor - Blazing saddles and more!

Burton Gilliam was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where he was a fireman for fourteen years prior to become an actor. He says his only "claim to fame" while living in Big D was winning more Golden Gloves championships than anyone in history. Boxing was his stage. Therefore, when he was offered a co-starring role in "Paper Moon" (without any acting experience), he quickly accepted. For the part of Floyd, the desk clerk, he received much critical acclaim. Mel Brooks saw him in "Paper Moon", liked what he saw, called Mr. Gilliam at the fire station and asked him to come to Hollywood for a meeting. After a meeting with Mr. Brooks, the writers, producers, and Warner Bros. executives, he was offered a major role in "Blazing Saddles". After an unsuccessful negotiation, he declined the offer and returned to Dallas. Mr. Brooks called a week later and asked Mr. Gilliam to come back for a second attempt at a deal. Mr. Gilliam did return to Hollywood, but again sad, "No thanks." Only after flying to Hollywood for third meeting with Mel Brooks, did he finally agree to do "Blazing Saddles". He quit the fire department and moved to Los Angeles where he lived and worked for twenty-three years.

Other movies in which Mr. Gilliam has appeared include "Honeymoon in Vegas", "Back to the future III", "Gator", "Fletch", "The Getaway", "Hearts of the West", "Wild Bill", and many others. His television credits include more than 100 shows. Among them are "North & South II", "Hail to the chief", "The Jericho Mile", "Duke of Hazzard", "Soap", "Knight rider", "A team", "Alice", and "Fall guy". He also starred in the television pilot, "The Girl, the Goldwatch and Dynamite". He portrayal of Martineau in the mini-series "Dream West" (starring Richard Chamberlain), was recognized as a major breakthrough revealing Mr. Gilliam's abilities as a dramatic actor. In 1991, 92, 93 he was seen in the recurring role of Virgil Mosley on the hit series "Evening Shade". He has appeared in over hundred twenty-five TV commercials, and you have heard his voice in many, many voice overs for television and radio.

Mr. Gilliam is a much sought-after public speaker, and in his spare time, he speaks to drama classes from elementary school to the college level. He is also a California, Texas, WBU and NABF professional boxing referee. An avid golfer, he plays on the celebrity golf circuit, traveling the country lending his name and efforts in the support of many charitable causes. He hosted The Burton Gilliam Celebrity Golf Classic, played in Pismo Beach, California for thirteen years.

Mr. Gilliam and his wife Susan now reside in Allen Texas, twenty-five miles north to Dallas. He has two children and four grandchildren who also live in the Dallas area.

Mr. Gilliam lost his longtime manager and good friend to Cancer last year. When Chris and Luke from Teens4aCure approached him about this teen effort- he said he would be honored to help in anyway!

Wade Martin
Singer- SongWriter

Wade Martin’s early years were spent in England as part of a close and loving family. When he was eight, his parents retired to the Canary Islands and Wade had to quickly adapt to his new Spanish home. His fondest memories of this time include an awakening passion for diverse types of music and an innate talent for playing many different instruments. As his interest and creativity grew, he began to write, perform and record his own material. Senor Blass Martinez, a world- renowned South American opera singer recognized Wade’s latent talent and spent four years putting him through intense vocal training. During this time, Wade broke a number of local student records including “highest note pitched” and “best on stage performance’. To-date, it is believed, these records still stand and Senor Martinez is not only Wade’s mentor, but also a personal friend.

The developing good looks brought Wade local media attention as a model. He was able to utilize these opportunities to promote his musical skills by selling tickets to his concerts and thus become recognized as a performer by the music loving public. During these formative European years, Wade’s production skills were also being acknowledged by other artists, whose own recordings were greatly enhanced by Wade’s technical experience and expertise. Various individuals within his sphere of influence formed bands under his guidance, including the European alternative rock group, ‘Fifth Element’.

Wade is known to enjoy collaborating with musicians from well-known rappers such as ‘Dex’ to Gospel artists ‘Steve Stewart’ and ‘Andrea Crouch’. These associations, have not only developed into personal and professional relationships, they have afforded various music world executives the chance to hear Wade’s many musical abilities first hand. The President of Isis Music, Pete Smith, best known for his part in the production of the 1985 ‘Live Aid’ concert from Wembley Stadium in England, is a personal friend who has contributed greatly to Wade’s understanding of today’s music industry.

When writing, recording and performing commitments allow, Wade directs his energies to helping children. He uses his time to actively work with and support, various organizations dedicated to helping those whose life is not so fortunate. His latest work entitled: ‘Face the Facts’, stands as an example of his strong desire to “give something back”, as 15% of the sale proceeds will be donated to these worthy causes, to help them in some small way continue the ongoing struggle. He is fully supporting Teens4aCure and hopes to help these caring young people to reach their goals of building the first of many Recovery Centers!

Teens 4 a cure is important because people suffering from Cancer and Leukemia need love and care and a place to feel safe. I have seen my own sister go through cancer treatments and learned up close what the disease can do to a human spirit. It is important to help patients experience happiness. Giving happiness, a sense of peace and a safe zone is therapeutic to patients, and improves recovery. Approached by Teen co- Founders Chris and Luke to join the team- she quickly responded with a Yes- and will dontate portions of profits from upcoming projects to Teens4aCure.
